I have learned many valuable lessons during the past 10 years within the corporate world. The most important lesson by far is this fundamental truth: People are at the core of every business.

The success of a business relies heavily on the people it employs. It stretches far beyond where they have studied or who their previous employer was. Top talent does not always equal right talent. Right talent is an equal blend of passion, skills, experience and values.

As a business leader, recruiter and HR devotee, I have garnered an array of skills that allow me to serve professionals from all walks of life. Refusing to limit myself to working for only one company, I am proud to be able to offer my expertise, passion and dedication to organizations looking to place right talent within key internal roles.

My experiential learning is rooted in my educational background in Human Resources Management from Ryerson University. As a member of Career Professionals of Canada and Human Resources Professionals Association, I pride myself in upholding a high standard of professionalism.

I am an active community member, seeking opportunities to give back through volunteer opportunities.

When my sister, Shereen Hayat, conceived the idea of Hayat HR, I wondered what benefit could I bring to the team? What is it that I have observed, learned and absorbed over the past 15 years which I could pass on to a potential job seeker or an employer in search of talent? Sure, my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and my extensive experience working primarily in the Group Insurance & Human Resources sectors enable me to leverage the wisdom gained for the good of others. But, these are hard skills which anyone can learn and even master over a period of time. For Hayat HR, I had to dig deeper–into my soft skills.

And then it came to me – LISTENING.

It is through this soft skill that I have been able to garner much success in my vocational, professional and personal lives. By taking myself out of the picture and dedicating my attention solely on the other, I have been able to understand the needs of others and act soundly.
